The focus for the 11th week (Feb. 13 – Mar. 19) of the 52 Weeks of Gratitude Challenge was:
Someone Who Inspires You
This one was tough to do, someone who inspires me. There are a couple of people who inspire me, but who do I write about?
Those who come to mind are people like Emine Yuseinova, Naskhanym Chausheva, Jesus Christ, Tony Robbins, Ryan Adams, Gary Vaynerchuk, Tobore Omuta and a few others.
There are also people who inspired me at one time or the other in the past. Samson Aligba, Behnam Rahnama, Emine Durmaz and a few others.
But after thinking for a while, I decided to write about someone who I haven’t written about on this blog.
I do not recall if I knew about her before we started working together. Perhaps I did, perhaps I didn’t. We became friends after the European University of Lefke employed us as Student Assistants. That was in November of 2011, and we were the new assistants for the International Office.
It was also the second start of my masters program. I was already friends with Emi, who was the Chief of Admissions at the time, as well as with Nat and Deniz. I believe they all had an influence in why I was selected, instead of Osama.
Since then, we both had to worked together , but not only under the international office. We worked together as international students and as executives at the International Students’ Club. It was during this time we became friends, and that was when I got to know Nas as a person.
Naskhanym is a woman who can easily identified and hardworking and focused. She speaks and stands for what she believes in. She has experiences in areas of life which has made her a diligent, relentless, determined and admirable woman.
With time, we got a little closer and Nas became an inspiration to me in more ways than one. Often times when I feel a derailing in my life, I would have a chat with her. Our conversations were always deep, but in a casual way. Her words make me think and reconsider things, and her advises are practical, when she gives them.
After a while, she became my go-to person for some of life’s issues lol. After talking to her, I would often get ideas and I often get inspired. She doesn’t just motivate or inspire me, I also motivate her too. We have taken on a couple of projects together, just after striking up a casual conversation.
Since she came into my life, I can say that things have been different. The last year or so without her, has been different too 🙁
Naskhanym is someone that inspires me to be more and to do more. She is someone I admire and look up to every now and then. Right now, there’s a distance and lack of communication between. Even so, she will always be one of the people that made a major impact in my life.
Everyone also needs a Nas in their lives!
Your turn… Who inspires you the most?
